On December 6, the project of cultural creativity and planning of the international professional teaching standards by the college passed the assessment at the review meeting on the development and acceptance of the international professional teaching standards for higher vocational education in Hunan Province.
Wu Shenqi, director of the Research Institute of Vocational Education and Adult Education of Hunan Province, Guo Lijun, president of the school of Education of Hunan Agricultural University, Li Bing, senior host of Hunan Satellite TV and the producer of Hunan International Channel “World’s Sight of Hunan”, and other experts carried out the review from perspectives of the project development concept, path, method, process, and outcomes. It is considered that the standard should be based on the whole province and take a broad view to the country, strengthening moral education to cultivate people and following the rules of higher vocational education and development of students' professional ability. Great efforts should be made to develop scientific paths and set up clear job orientations and accurate specification. In addition, a systematic teaching plan is necessary to reflect the student-oriented characteristics with the job as the outline, theory and practice as the path, and resource as the guarantee. At the review meeting, the experts also gave suggestions on further improvement of the outcomes, late-stage application, and other issues.
The project, undertaken by the college, was a single-source bidding project from Hunan provincial Reasearch Institute of Education, and the first provincial international professional teaching standard project. It was established in January 2016 for a period of two years. For now, it has completed the development tasks, including an international professional teaching standard and 19 professional curriculum standards. In September, it successfully passed the assessment and acceptance by the Hunan provincial Reasearch Institute of Education, which remarked a symbolic achievement in the Excellent College construction of the college.
Ma Yujun, Xu Jingxue, Lei Junlin, Xie Jingwei and other leaders of the college attended the meeting. President Ma Yujun pointed out that we should take the development of international curriculum system, international cooperation in talent cultivation, and the construction of international professional groups as the starting point, keeping up with the growing trend of industrial development and international professional education so as to promote the cultivation of international professional talents in the college.
